How to apply for Secured by Design membership

To achieve Secured by Design accreditation products must meet the minimum security standards required by ACPO Crime Prevention Initiatives (CPI).

Some security products that do not have the benefit of a suitable public test standard may be subjected to rigorous evaluation by a technical authority acceptable to ACPO CPI.

Once a product has been tested and certified to the relevant standard, the company may apply for SBD membership.

ACPO CPI is entirely self-funded and receives no government grants, therefore an annual licensing fee does apply. This fee is proportionate to the companys relevant turnover.

ACPO CPI has a team of dedicated Development Officers who are responsible for liaising with existing member companies and signing new ones up. They are always happy to come and give a detailed, targeted explanation of the SBD membership application process and answer any questions you may have.
