The document refers to Secured by Design (page 35) as promoting good practice in using the planning system to ensure that designers and builders consider crime prevention measures during the design stage of their proposals.

These officers can be contacted through your local ALO listed under UK Police Forces or by ringing the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) on Tel: 020 7931 7142.
NaCTSO is a police unit that sits within the National Security Advice Centre (NSAC) which is the central point for protective security advice for government. Further advice and information can be obtained by accessing information from NSAC through the website www.mi5.gov.uk
