Secured Environments is a new risk management scheme that promotes good security practice in organisations by focusing on strategy, process and people.
ACPO Crime Prevention Initiatives in partnership with Perpetuity, one of the country's leading crime and security consultancies and a spin-out from the University of Leicester, have developed the scheme which will compliment the existing ACPO-supported Secured by Design project.
Secured Environments assesses organisations to see if they have made security an inherent part of how they are managed. If they pass the standard they are certified as being secure by ACPO CPI and awarded the 'Police' Secured Environments Certificate.
The Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) allows Chief Constables to accredit staff of other organisations, such as security guards, with increased powers to tackle graffiti, litter, and antisocial behaviour. This supports the organisation's efforts to reduce crime and disorder by increasing the effectiveness of their accredited staff and enabling a closer working relationship with local police forces.

The Railway Safety Accreditation Scheme (RSAS) operates in accordance with the same legislation as the CSAS but with specific references to Railway Byelaws and the railway environment.
Individual members of staff are checked and accredited by the chief constable for the police force where they will work. Accredited staff will only be awarded powers that are appropriate to the roles they carry out. They must wear the correct badges and uniforms and carry I.D. cards that identify them, their role and the powers they have.
Chief officers have agreed that companies and employers who wish to apply for RSAS or CSAS status should first apply through ACPO Crime Prevention Initiatives who will undertake company background checks and make information and recommendations available to all relevant police forces. This single point of contact for companies will reduce time and costs, especially where a company will work in more than one police area. The application guides are available to download below.

Leisurewatch is a trade-marked UK wide scheme in which staff of leisure facilities are trained to spot potentially dangerous behaviour and protect vulnerable people. Since its inception over 3,000 people have been trained. The scheme has four aspects:
Leisurewatch is part of the Safer Spaces campaign set up by the TDI, a registered charity based in Newcastle upon Tyne and working throughout the UK to protect the public by promoting an inter-agency response and pragmatic approaches to sexual offending.

Students are often more vulnerable to crime, particularly when moving to new areas, or when moving away from home for the first time.
"Safer Students" aims to raise awareness of personal safety for students, and gives advice on how to stay safe and avoid precarious situations.
Unlike many safety films, "Safer Students" presents key messages in a thought-provoking, humorous, and student friendly manner. The following key messages are included:
