CLD Fencing adds first temporary fencing system to products accredited by Secured by Design
CLD Fencing Systems, the UK’s largest manufacturer and supplier of rigid mesh fencing systems and security gates, has increased its range of products accredited by Secured by Design (SBD), adding the first temporary fencing system that meets the Police Preferred Specification standard to its SBD portfolio.
FenceSafe SR1 is the world’s first LPS 1175 Security Rated Temporary Fencing System, offering a guaranteed minimum delay against attack of at least 60 seconds against a range of tools. The system is available at a height of 2.4m and features a foundation free installation due to the revolutionary patented cantilever FenceSafe base that conforms to BS EN 1991 for Wind Loading.
With anti-climb panels in the form of 76.2 x 12.5mm mesh apertures, additional security toppings can be fitted to the system to prevent scaling. The whole system is secured with CLD Fencing Systems SafeTFix hidden fixing system which means there are no external fixings to the attack face.
Manufactured to ISO 9001:2015 and conforming to BS 1722 Part 14 for open mesh steel panel fences, the system comes with a 15 year manufacturers’ guarantee against defects.
With FenceSafe SR1 being a foundation free temporary security fencing system, it can be rapidly deployed but still offers the same security as a permanent fence.
SBD Development Officer Hazel Goss said: “CLD Fencing have been the first company to produce a temporary fencing that is Secured by Design accredited. This will be much welcomed by companies out there that need this type of security fencing to protect property and equipment. These are exciting times and I look forward to 2019 to see what other crime reducing products CLD develop”.
Stewart Plant, Director of Marketing at CLD Fencing, said: “It is now possible for all aspects of the building project to be protected by Secured by Design systems. House Builders in particular can now have a guaranteed minimum delay on their temporary perimeter to help reduce the risk of burglary on site. It doesn’t just stop with house builders, all manner of applications can now achieve a security rated fencing system that can be moved and reinstalled rapidly through the process of the project.”
CLD Fencing has thirteen perimeter security systems that meet Police Preferred Specification standards. You can find out more about these SBD accredited products here: http://www.securedbydesign.com/members/cld-fencing-systems/
SBD is a police-owned organisation that works on behalf of the Police Service throughout the UK to deliver a wide range of crime prevention and demand reduction initiatives.
SBD plays a significant crime prevention role in the planning process to design out crime in a wide range of building sectors. It has achieved some significant success including one million homes built to SBD standards with reductions in crime of up to 87%.
SBD have many partner organisations, ranging from the Home Office, Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government and the Police Service through to local authorities, housing associations, developers and manufacturers and work closely with standards and certification bodies to ensure that their publicly available standards actually meet the needs of the police and public alike.
Products must be subjected to vigorous testing and auditing by an accredited third party organisation before being allowed to carry the SBD logo – this is the only way for companies to obtain police accreditation for security related products in the UK.
