Technocover: ‘the last line of defence to protect critical installations and equipment’

A new website has been launched by Technocover – a leading provider of physical security that helps protect the UK’s critical national infrastructure assets and a Secured by Design (SBD) member company, which has no less than 100 products that have achieved the coveted Police Preferred Specification security standard!

Sporting a smart green colour scheme to match the company’s new logo, Technocover’s website leads with a video feature video of a single, masked intruder’s failed, night-time attempt to break into a storage unit at a remote location.

Armed with a Hooligan Bar (forcible entry tool), the muscular criminal takes only a few seconds to remove the gate lock and prises open the door to the GRP gas bottle store. His next target is Technocover’s steel LPCB SR4 (D10) approved enclosure with its key entry and lever handle but fails to force it open despite determined attacks using the Hooligan Bar and a battery-operated grinder.

Packed with easy-to-read information, Technocover’s website provides concise summaries covering Technocover’s products, its commitment to pioneering research and development, the importance of testing and certification and its relationship building and commitment to clients.

Based in Welshpool, Powys, Technocover provides the last physical line of defence to protect critical installations and equipment that are vital to the national infrastructure and economies at home and abroad against a range of threats up to and including terrorism.

The company operates in both private and public sectors including water treatment and supply, energy supply and distribution, transportation and telecommunications as well as military and government establishments.

Its physical security access product range includes access doors, covers, cabinets/kiosks and enclosures, walk-in modular buildings, mesh cages, partitions and panels, louvres and window bar sets. Every product has an ultra-robust steel plate construction and is hot-dip galvanised after manufacture to BS EN ISO 1461 as standard and has certification from independent testing bodies like the LPCB.

Designing and manufacturing innovative steel products since September 1993, Technocover provides a comprehensive, one-stop shop solution from initial concept, design and development through to manufacture, installation and ongoing maintenance.

Technocover’s designers using the latest AutoCAD, Solid Works and 3D modelling technology work alongside a dedicated planning team, who oversee procurement, quality assurance, health and safety, surveying, scheduling and contract reviews through to management of customer framework agreements. The in-house manufacturing facility tailor-makes products to meet clients’ specific technical requirements.

Terry Batten, Marketing Manager, Technocover, explained: “Our commitment to the responsibility of successfully protecting assets on which critical national infrastructure depends goes much further than the manufacture and supply of products.

“We have built up an unrivalled expertise in physical access security and we use that expertise, alongside our market-leading products, to provide a complete one-stop solution for clients.

“It means there is no need for clients to engage multiple contractors to handle design, installation and maintenance. Whatever access security challenges are presented to us, we have everything our clients need under one roof. We call it Total Service.”

Terry added: “We hope our new website helps our potential and existing clients understand the strength of our commitment to them to provide inherently high quality, strong and durable products that help prevent unauthorised access to key installation and equipment assets.”

Technocover’s extensive list of SBD accredited products consist of access covers, doors, locks and hardware, safes and secure enclosures, security grilles and shutters. They number 100 in total.

SBD Development Officer, Hazel Goss, commented: “Technocover is a long and valued partner of Secured by Design. Their new website provides some great information, which can only add to their reputation as a leading supplier of physical security access products in the UK and overseas.

“As their website video shows, Technocover’s products go above and beyond offering high levels of security to resist attack despite the use of some heavy duty, hand-held tools,” said Hazel.
