BUNKER Brand by Draper Tools Joins Secured by Design with Innovative Van Storage Solutions
Bunker the premium storage brand from Draper Tools has joined Secured by Design, the official police security initiative known for its rigorous accreditation standards.
For over 100 years, the independent family-run company Draper Tools has built a trusted reputation as a manufacturer and supplier of professional automotive and trade tools. Expanding into the storage market the company developed the Bunker range offering premium garage cabinets, roller tool chests and workstations which are widely used by professional garages, car collectors and race teams. Now Bunker is entering the construction sector with its rugged van storage solutions designed for tradespeople.
Several of Bunker’s stacking and sliding box solutions have achieved Sold Secure Silver Certification and are accredited with Secured by Design. They can be found on their SBD member’s page here.

To support the launch of this new secure van storage collection Bunker conducted a survey of UK tradespeople to better understand the challenges they face:
• Over a third worry about tool theft daily
• 77% reported that messy vans negatively affected their mental wellbeing
• On average tradespeople waste 51 minutes a week searching for lost items in their vans
Sarah Hartland, Head of Marketing for Bunker Storage, said “We know that tradespeople are some of the hardest workers out there - it’s a stressful job, with long hours, challenging conditions and the perpetual threat of tool theft. With all that going on, it’s no wonder some trades just don’t have time to keep their vans as organised as they’d like to.
“As part of creating our van storage range we really wanted to listen to the industry, understand their concerns and how we could help make life easier. While the issue of theft is multifaceted, we want to play our part with solutions that offer protection and reassurance. That’s why the Bunker van storage range is packed with anti-theft design features including a Bluetooth tracker holder on every storage box. We’ve really tried to put security at the heart of this range, alongside organisation, to help give the nation’s hardworking tradespeople peace of mind.”
Lyn Poole meets the Bunker team
Lyn Poole, Development Officer for SBD commented, ”I have known the Draper brand, as many people have almost my whole life, I think it was from my dad having some of their hand tools in his tool box. As the company has been around for over 100 + years it’s not surprising. I really like the fact it’s still a family firm with many long-serving team members. The Bunker products are strong, robust, and highly practical with multi uses. While they serve many purposes they’re designed with the objective of securing tools in vans in response to the rising rate of tool theft.
“It was a pleasure to meet them and the process of them becoming SBD members was made easy with their enthusiasm and professionalism. Welcome and I look forward to working with them.“
