Designing Out Crime Zone once again a hit at The Security Event

The 2024 Security Event again heard from exceptional speakers, saw the latest technologies and innovations, as well as connecting professionals from across the industry.

One of the central themes of the show was once again Police CPI’s ‘Designing Out Crime Zone’, which showcased the latest techniques to reduce crime and keep local communities safe.

A series of thought provoking seminars and panel sessions took place in The Designing Out Crime Zone theatre
over the course of The Security Event, including seminars on ‘The Problem Solving Conundrum’ and ‘Crime Prevention’, as well as panel sessions on ‘Martyn’s Law: Inspiration, Information and Implementation’ and ‘Time's up! Are you breaking the law?’.

The range of experts on these panel sessions include representatives from SBD, BSI, IASME, ASSA ABLOY, Which? Magazine, the Merlin Group, the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO), Merlin Entertainments and Counter-Terrorism, Intelligence and Risk, Risk To Resolution Ltd.

Visitors to the Designing Out Crime Zone were also able to discover best practice around crime prevention and learn about Police CPI and its initiatives, which include Secured by Design (SBD); SBD’s Police Preferred Specification accreditation scheme for products or services that have met recognised security standards; the SBD Secure Connected Device accreditation scheme for IoT products; the SBD Alarm standard for alarm installers; Licensing SAVI, the Police Crime Police Academy and the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS).
