"Renewing proves our commitment to improve the physical security of buildings and deter crime"
Leading door component supplier Halspan have renewed their membership with Secured by Design (SBD), the official police security initiative.
Located in West Lothian, Halspan is one of the leading suppliers of quality door components in the world. As a systems company, its universally respected doorsets are made under licence by customers around the world.
A pioneer in its field, Halspan has been at the forefront of its industry in one way or another for the last 25 years. First, in the early 1990s, Halspan developed an entirely new way of constructing doors, using pre-tested fire door blanks made from 3-layer particle board. Halspan was also the first company to offer a full range of testing, covering different door configurations and modes.
Recognising that specifiers’ and fabricators’ needs change, Halspan has continued to enhance its product range. At the same time, Halspan has extended its offering, so that specifiers can now detail quality doorset components from a trusted supplier. Halspan now offers a wide range of seals, hardware, steel frames and glass for use in conjunction with their door blanks.
The following Halspan products have achieved Secured by Design Police Preferred Specification:
Doors
- Halspan Prima 30 NFR 44mm Leaf, Internal Enhanced Security Doorset System
- Halspan Prima FD30S 44mm Internal Enhanced Security Fire & Smoke Doorset System
- Halspan Prima FD60S 54mm Internal Enhanced Security, Fire & Smoke Doorset System

Halspan’s Internal Enhanced Security Doorset System offers fully certified fire, smoke, and security performance, ensuring architects, contractors and the like can enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that the products specified will remain fit for purpose throughout their service life.” Kenny McHugh, Secured by Design, commented: “It’s great to see Halspan renewing with Secured by Design, continuing to demonstrate why they are regarded so highly across the UK and international markets. We have numerous member companies who fabricate Halspan door systems, and I am sure this number will continue to grow.” |
