Professional Cyclist Hannah Barnes Chooses Secured by Design Member Asgard for Bike Security

Barnes, who has represented Great Britain at world championships and raced internationally across Europe and the US, places huge value on her cycling equipment and the need to keep it safe. Like many cyclists, she experienced first-hand the impact of a break-in when her former wooden shed was targeted by thieves.

“Last year, our shed was broken into, which was absolutely devastating. So the first thing we did was search for the most secure shed on the market, and that’s when we came across Asgard,” explained Barnes.

After researching secure storage options, Barnes selected the Centurion x6 Bike Shed, one of Asgard’s Secured by Design (SBD) accredited products. The unit is designed for cyclists requiring both high levels of security and practical storage space, with capacity for up to six bikes and associated equipment.

The Centurion x6 is manufactured from galvanised steel, features a reinforced locking system, and is built to withstand both theft attempts and the elements. Accredited to Police Preferred Specification through Secured by Design, it provides independent assurance that the shed meets recognised security standards.

Installation was carried out by Asgard’s team, and Barnes has been impressed with the result:

Secured by Design (SBD) is owned by the UK Police Service with the specific aim of reducing crime and increasing safety for businesses and individuals.

SBD seeks to improve the physical security of buildings and the surrounding area using products such as doors, windows, locks and walling systems along with fencing systems that meet the SBD Police Preferred Specification security requirements.
