SEiNG by Alert Data joins Secured by Design

SEiNG is a fully managed Cloud CCTV platform, also known as Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS), designed to provide flexible and scalable video security solutions without the need for traditional on-site infrastructure. The platform works with both new and existing CCTV cameras, enabling users to build systems tailored to their specific requirements while maintaining a high standard of security and reliability.

At the core of the platform is the SEiNG Cloud Gateway, which has achieved Secured by Design’s Secure Connected Device (SCD) accreditation for both CCTV and digital software. This demonstrates that the system has met the rigorous requirements of the SCD scheme, providing assurance that it has been designed with appropriate levels of cyber security to protect against unauthorised access and data breaches.

SEiNG’s cloud-based approach removes the need for servers and complex hardware, instead offering secure UK-based data storage, automatic system updates and proactive monitoring. The platform also incorporates AI-powered video analytics and intelligent search functionality, enabling users to quickly identify and respond to incidents while gaining valuable operational insights.

The system is designed to support a wide range of applications, from small scale installations to multi-site operations, with the ability to manage multiple locations through a single, user-friendly interface. Its flexible deployment options allow integration with existing infrastructure, supporting both modern and legacy CCTV systems.

Secured by Design

Secured by Design is owned by the UK Police Service with the specific aim of reducing crime and increasing safety for businesses and individuals.

SBD seeks to improve the physical security of buildings and the surrounding area using products such as doors, windows, locks and walling systems along with fencing systems that meet the SBD Police Preferred Specification security requirements.

SBD have many partner organisations, ranging from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government through to local authorities, housing associations, developers and manufacturers and work closely with standards and certification bodies.

SBD is the only way for companies to obtain police recognition for security-related products in the UK, through the Police Preferred Specification - a product-based accreditation scheme developed over 25 years ago, which provides a recognised standard for all security products that effectively deter and reduce crime. SBD work with manufacturers and standards authorities to ensure that security standards are current and updated to keep pace with emerging crime trends.
