Spectus fabricator Universal Trade Frames to mark 25th anniversary in 2021
Secured by Design (SBD) member company, Universal Trade Frames, a specialist Spectus Systems fabricator, providing high quality manufactured PVC-U doors and windows to the trade and built-in security to residential customers, is set to mark its 25th anniversary in 2021.
The company’s belief in the importance of security features across its range of doors and windows is backed up with accreditations that ‘provide the peace of mind that installers value and homeowners want’.
From its Shropshire based factory, Universal Trade Frames, which is a family-owned business, has become renowned as a company that delivers top quality and reliable security products. It is proud to have retained the custom of the same customers since it started trading in 1996.
Its product range is extensive. Its windows include PVC-U casement, tilt and turn, flush casement and sliding sash. In addition, there are composite, bi-folding, residential and patio doors. It has a range of aluminium door and window products too.
Wanting to meet the highest standards and comply with the latest regulations has become a bedrock of the company’s approach to business. Every single combination of all products in its portfolio has undergone extensive testing and certification at Telford-based Wintech Testing and Certification, which was acquired by UL, a global safety science leader, in July 2019.
Universal Trade Frames’ certifications include PAS 24:2016 for security, BS 6375-1 for weather tightness and BS 6375-2 and BS EN 1191 for operation and strength testing.
Sales Manager, Universal Trade Frames, Karla Greenhalgh, said: “Our customers depend on the quality and compliance of our products and this is something that is vital and we take very seriously. Full certification with every product is what we require.”
One of the company’s flagship products is the Spectus Elite 70 product range. Following extensive research in technology, legislation and thermal efficiency, Elite 70 is a complete suite of component parts, which enables the design, manufacture and installation of a full range of window, door and conservatory components, all from the same system.
Nine of Universal Trade Frames’ Spectus Elite 70 products – four doors and five windows – have achieved Secured by Design’s Police Preferred Specification for being sufficiently robust to deter opportunist burglars. These accredited products include bevelled, ovolo and flush system profiles.
Universal Trade Frames is particularly proud of being the only Spectus Flush Casement manufacturer to currently achieve the SBD Certification. With its specially designed hardware offers a night vent facility as standard and the option of a flush french casement being available in a wide variety of colours. For a traditional look this can also be manufactured using mechanical joints.
The Spectus Elite 70 range is eco-friendly and provides an outstanding barrier against heat and noise loss even in the most extreme weather conditions, and offer a range of styles and choices for customers. They also provide simplicity in design and fitting for installers.
Hazel Goss, Development Officer, Secured by Design, said: “We are proud to have Universal Trade Frames as a member company. They have impressed with their belief and commitment to the importance of providing secure products to installers and onwards to customers. Its track record of trading and customer loyalty speaks for itself.”
Along with the highly recognised Spectus brand all frames are supplied with the Elite range of hardware which is designed to be robust and durable to meet the requirements of PAS 24:2016. The window and door locking systems have exceeded 480 hours salt spray exposure (EN1675 Grade 5) and offers a ten-year guarantee.
The company provides an instant quote facility with its Business Micros EvoSatellite software, which works on both PCs and tablets, to help installers, whether they are in the office or out on the road, to get a price and place an order straightaway. An in-house consultant oversees the set-up process to ensure it works properly.
