    With the change in RPEEPs legislation (fire safety residential plans), the FIA / NFCC Code of Practice and the Secured by Design guidance have been updated to refer to the term secure information boxes for high rise residential buildings over 18m (in line with Fire Safety (England) 2022 regulations) and new builds over 11m (Approved Document B). As information relating to RPEEPs will need to be held within the physical secure information boxes, the type of secure information box is crucial. And this is where the type of secure information box in this application has a requirement for a strict security test standard and carries third party certification to ensure that it is audited annually. Gerda’s range of Premises Information Boxes (PIB®) remain the original type of secure information boxes. The brand, pioneered by Gerda Security, as the leading manufacturer for over 20 years, remains as valid now, as it was then. The high security PIB was designed and developed with firefighters to exacting requirements for operational crews and has become the recognised focal point for premises plans and information in the event of an incident. The signage will remain as PIB which is in accordance with the Code of Practice. The markings SIB and PIB can be applied to a type of secure information box that meets all the requirements of the Code of Practice for high rise residential buildings. The Emergency Response Pack, the type of RPEEPs information and the Building Evacuation Plan are all areas where Gerda provides advice and a service for this type of information.     The EACIE Enclosure is a critical component of an evacuation alert system, specifically designed for use by the Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) in buildings with flats or maisonettes.
