DefendaStrip Launches New ‘Spin’ Perimeter Protection System

DefendaStrip has expanded its Secured by Design accredited perimeter protection range with the launch of the new Spin system, a rotating anti-climb solution designed to provide enhanced protection across a wide range of applications.

Developed and manufactured in East Sussex, the Spin joins the existing Flex and Rise products within the DefendaStrip range, creating a comprehensive suite of perimeter security solutions suitable for walls, metal fencing and more complex boundary layouts.

Designed with robust defensive spikes and capable of rotating 360 degrees, the Spin has been engineered to provide a highly effective physical and visual deterrent to trespassers and intruders. Manufactured from weatherproof polypropylene and recycled ABS, the system has been developed for durability and low maintenance performance across challenging environments.

The new product is available in dedicated wall and metal fence configurations, with bespoke precision-engineered brackets designed specifically for different installation requirements. The wall-mounted option is available in two height variations and can also accommodate the installation of DefendaStrip Flex beneath it, while the fence-mounted version has been designed for use with metal fencing systems including 358 and 686 mesh.

Spin can be deployed as a standalone solution or integrated alongside other products in the DefendaStrip range, offering greater flexibility for specifiers and installers when addressing different perimeter security challenges.

Ease of installation has also been a key consideration in the product’s development. Both wall and fence packs are supplied complete and ready to install, helping to reduce installation time on site and minimise the risk of missing components during fitting.

DefendaStrip products are designed and manufactured in the UK by DS Security Solutions Ltd, a company with extensive experience in bringing complex projects to fruition. Originally developed in response to a utilities sector requirement for a flexible and safer alternative to traditional metal deterrents, the DefendaStrip range has continued to evolve to meet the needs of clients across the public, private and utilities sectors.

The addition of the Spin further strengthens the company’s range of Secured by Design accredited perimeter protection products, supporting the delivery of secure environments while minimising the risk of injury associated with more aggressive anti-climb measures.

Sally Sprange, DS Security Solutions Ltd, said: “We’re thrilled to add the Spin to our existing range of Secured by Design accredited trespasser deterrents. We now have a comprehensive set of solutions that address all types of boundary surfaces, working separately or together to create a cohesive and effective anti-climb system suitable for all sectors. Being the only Police Preferred range of anti-climb solutions is a great honour for us and demonstrates to potential customers the quality of our products.”

Lyn Poole, Secured by Design, commented: “It’s a pleasure doing business with such a great company. Sally and Richard work tirelessly and they now have three accredited products, the DefendaStrip® Spin being the latest. Their hard work is paying off and I couldn’t be happier for them.”
