Purple Line join Secured by Design

Established in 2002, the Suffolk-based company designs and manufactures a wide range of products for the recreational vehicle market, with a strong focus on practicality, ease of use and security. Operating from its UK ‘innovation centre’, Purple Line has built a reputation for developing products that respond directly to the needs of caravan, trailer and motorhome owners.

Purple Line joins Secured by Design with several accredited products from its Fullstop® Security range, including the Excalibur receiver wheel lock, Saracen Gullwing hitch lock, Nemesis Plus wheel lock and Nemesis Ultra wheel lock.

Designed to provide robust protection for caravans, trailers, folding campers, motorhomes and campervans, the accredited range combines lightweight construction with high levels of resistance to cutting, drilling and gas freezing. The products utilise proprietary composite materials and British-made anti-pick locking systems, helping to deliver strong physical security without the weight and inconvenience often associated with traditional wheel clamps and hitch locks.

The Fullstop® Excalibur is a compact chassis receiver wheel lock developed specifically for caravans with alloy wheels, while the Saracen Gullwing hitch lock features a patented design allowing rapid one-handed fitting to compatible AL-KO hitches. The Nemesis Plus and Nemesis Ultra wheel locks have been engineered to provide quick installation and dependable protection for a wide range of recreational vehicles, making them particularly well suited for touring and overnight stops.

Several products within the range have also achieved Kiwa SCM MP03 approval, including testing for corrosion and freezing resistance, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to durability and long-term performance.

Secured by Design

Secured by Design is owned by the UK Police Service with the specific aim of reducing crime and increasing safety for businesses and individuals.

SBD seeks to improve the physical security of buildings and the surrounding area using products such as doors, windows, locks and walling systems along with fencing systems that meet the SBD Police Preferred Specification security requirements.

SBD have many partner organisations, ranging from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government through to local authorities, housing associations, developers and manufacturers and work closely with standards and certification bodies.

SBD is the only way for companies to obtain police recognition for security-related products in the UK, through the Police Preferred Specification - a product-based accreditation scheme developed over 25 years ago, which provides a recognised standard for all security products that effectively deter and reduce crime. SBD work with manufacturers and standards authorities to ensure that security standards are current and updated to keep pace with emerging crime trends.
