Direct Path Solutions renew membership with SBD

Direct Path Solutions have renewed their membership with Secured by Design, the official police security initiative.

Direct Path Solutions have had a number of significant successes recently, with their SBD accredited OWL (Online Link Watch) system, which has led to many arrests and the safe return of a number of missing vulnerable people across the UK.

OWL is a shared, secure platform for the public, police and local authorities to maximise the potential of Neighbourhood Watch, Rural Watch, Business Watch and dozens of other schemes, keeping communities safe, helping reduce crime and keeping people informed of what's going on locally.

Secured by Design Development Officer Lyn Poole said: “Direct Path Solutions have been a valued member of SBD since 2012 and OWL plays a crucial partnership role with police and local authorities in maximising the effectiveness of Neighbourhood Watch, Rural Watch, Business Watch and many other schemes.

“A platform based tool like OWL is cost effective and has evidence behind it showing that it truly works, helping to keep communities safe, people informed of what's going on locally and in many incidents reducing and even solving crimes”.

Gary Fenton of Direct Path Solutions said: “OWL is the only community engagement system to have SBD accreditation which we’re proud of and is one of many features that helps set it apart. This year half of all London boroughs are now using OWL and in Hertfordshire 35% of all homes are registered on it and receiving direct communications from their local police.”
