Envision Intelligent Solutions Delivers Smart and Safe Security
Security specialists, Envision Intelligent Solutions, has joined Secured by Design, the official national police security initiative.
Envision offers bespoke security solutions with their team of experts who design, install, maintain and monitor a wide range of smart technology driven security solutions across UK & Ireland. Their work spans infrastructure, construction projects or off grid-locations.
Two of their products - the ECO CCTV Solar Tower and The Rapid Speed Dome CCTV 4G Camera have received Secured Connected Device accreditation with SBD and can be found here on their dedicated member’s page.
Secure Connected Device is a scheme which highlights products that have achieved the appropriate and relevant IoT standards (Internet of Things) and certification, meaning that they have taken stringent steps to protect their clients or consumers in reducing their vulnerability to cyber security attacks.
Both products were showcased and demonstrated by Envision at ATLAS25 this year.

Envision’s mobile ECO CCTV Solar Tower provides a reliable 24/7 security solution for challenging environments such as construction sites, vacant premises or remove locations. Fully powered by solar energy, without the need for any external power source as energy is stored in the battery, it ensures continuous operation even in poor weather conditions. This makes it not only ecofriendly and cost effective but also perfect for temporary solutions or remote locations, such as protecting a solar farm. Utilising 4G mobile technology, the ECO Tower CCTV camera monitors live situations. If an intruder is detected a real time alert triggers the Category 1 Envision Alarm Receiving Centre and audio warnings are emitted and the site’s key holders are alerted, along with authorities if necessary. Incident reports are then provided to the clients and on request recorded footage for evidence.
The Rapid Speed Dome offers another fast, temporary security solution designed to deliver live or recorded high definition images via 4G mobile transmission. It provides infrared CCTV surveillance, alarm monitoring and intruder detection. It uses a PTZ camera which provides the end user with 360 degree viewing control, making it particularly suited to local authorities covering public spaces in need of temporary surveillance.
Envision’s ECO CCTV Solar Tower and Rapid Speed Dome were recently used together to monitor and protect the construction of a new commercial complex at the Salford Quays, a waterfront tourist attraction in Greater Manchester.

Lyn Poole, SBD, commented, “I’m so pleased to have Envision come on board as members. The ECO Solar Tower is a great product and very versatile. They have the Rapid Speed Dome camera with us as well and I hear there may be more products, so watch this space. I have known Chris Finney and Russ Ellis for a few years now. They are extremely diligent and passionate about their products and worked tirelessly to get over the SBD membership virtual line, even with a few curve balls I sent their way. It has been a pleasure to get them through the joining stage and I look forward to working with them.”
Chris Finney UK&I Sales Manager for Envision Intelligent Solutions said, “For over 20 years, Envision have been a market leader in offering temporary site security, protecting major construction firms and high-profile locations, and as part of our continued growth and ongoing commitment to the industry, we wanted Envision and its products to be part of Secured by Design. It’s extremely important to us that we provide peace of mind to our customers and this accreditation further strengthens our position.
With having successfully accredited two of our industry leading products, we will soon be looking to put the rest of our temporary security solutions through the same process.”
Secured by Design (SBD) is owned by the UK Police Service with the specific aim of reducing crime and increasing safety for businesses and individuals.
SBD seeks to improve the physical security of buildings and the surrounding area using products such as doors, windows, locks and walling systems along with fencing systems that meet the SBD Police Preferred Specification security requirements.
SBD have many partner organisations, ranging from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government through to local authorities, housing associations, developers and manufacturers and work closely with standards and certification bodies.
SBD is the only way for companies to obtain police recognition for security-related products in the UK, through the Police Preferred Specification - a product-based accreditation scheme developed 25 years ago, which provides a recognised standard for all security products that effectively deter and reduce crime. SBD work with manufacturers and standards authorities to ensure that security standards are current and updated to keep pace with emerging crime trends.
