Everest Limited has renewed its membership with Secured by Design (SBD), the national police crime prevention initiative, adding GrabLock® to their range of accredited products.
Everest home improvements was founded in 1965 and quickly became synonymous with quality double glazing and exceptional customer service, making them one of the most recognised and respected home improvement companies in the UK.
As well as famous Everest double glazing, Everest also offer a range of products that covers almost every area of home improvement, including doors, conservatories, roofline products, garage doors and security systems.
Everest’s GrabLock® has become their latest product to achieve Police Preferred Specification. GrabLock® is their most innovative and secure window lock yet, developed exclusively with leading lock manufacturer, Yale, the home security specialists. Made of highly durable and non-corrosive aluminium, the window lock not only offers you the best in home security, it's also been designed to be stylish and discreet.
GrabLock® has three times the locking surface area of a standard, multi-point or shoot-bolt window lock, making it Everest’s most secure lock ever. Formed of a sleek rotating cylinder that quite literally ‘grabs’ a specially designed 60mm long ‘keep’ on the frame; the lock generates a highly effective bond, making it extra secure.

SBD is a police-owned organisation that works on behalf of the Police Service throughout the UK to deliver a wide range of crime prevention and demand reduction initiatives.
SBD plays a significant crime prevention role in the planning process to design out crime in a wide range of building sectors. It has achieved some significant success including one million homes built to SBD standards with reductions in crime of up to 87%.
SBD have many partner organisations, ranging from the Home Office, Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government and the Police Service through to local authorities, housing associations, developers and manufacturers and work closely with standards and certification bodies to ensure that their publicly available standards actually meet the needs of the police and public alike.
Products must be subjected to vigorous testing and auditing by an accredited third party organisation before being allowed to carry the SBD logo – this is the only way for companies to obtain police accreditation for security related products in the UK.
