Fire Resistant Neos doorset now successfully security tested

Following the introduction of Building Regulation in England, and specifically Approved Document Q (ADQ) – Security of Dwelling, a potential conflict on performance of doors to meet this and also Approved Document B (ADB) – Fire Safety, has led NEOS Protect Ltd to undertake physical security tests on their 60/0 Fire Resistant Doorset.

Tests were carried out by Exova to meet the STS202 BR2 level of burglary resistance (as the most appropriate performance level for communal high-usage doorsets) to a large single leaf and fully glazed doorset secured on the optimum locking solution for access control – electromagnetic locks.

After successful conclusion of the test procedures, we are pleased to confirm that the first product that can meet the varied demands of ADQ, ADB, Access Control and modern day aesthetics is now available from NEOS Protect Ltd.

These doors are designed for use on large apartment blocks requiring internal compartmentalisation of floor levels or protection of stairwells to prevent unauthorised persons entering differing zones, but ensuring a safe evacuation escape route in event of fire, thus offering a further secure and safety barrier to all tenants and visitors.

This complements the current range of SBD Accredited Access Controlled Communal Usage Doorsets that are available from NEOS Protect Ltd – Inward or Outward Opening modes, Single or Double Doorsets plus varying styles and designs, including fully glazed, solid or louvered versions.
