JNE Security introduce the SBD accredited Minder Signal Blocker & Minder Signal Blocker Mini to protect car keys

JNE Security have added another two products to their portfolio of products accredited by Secured by Design (SBD) as having reached the coveted Police Preferred Specification, with the addition of the Minder Signal Blocker and the new Minder Signal Blocker Mini.

The Minder Signal Blocker has been designed for both car keys and mobile phones, whereas the Minder Signal Blocker Mini has been designed specifically for car keys and is half the size of standard Signal Blockers.

Both Signal Blockers have a protective storage pouch and when sealed completely block the signal of any item inside, to protect car keys from Relay Attacks where a handheld signal blocking device is used to gain access to vehicles.

The Minder Signal Blocker can also be used to store mobile phones to prevent distracted driving. A mobile phone cannot receive any calls or alerts, thereby blocking the temptation for a car driver to use or check their phone and eliminating distraction. It is also ideal as a tool to discourage phone use in workplaces and classrooms.

The Minder Signal Blocker is available in eight different colours.

The Minder Signal Blocker Mini also features an integral keyring to attach car keys to and is available in eight different colours. The compact size is only 105mm x 64mm.

Nick Hughes, JNE Security’s Product Development Manager said. “We have been at the forefront of the development of RFID Security. Our world famous Minder brand was first featured on BBC TV’s Rip Off Britain Show in relation to Credit Card fraud in early 2016. We have since developed the concept to protect Passports, Mobile Phones and Car Keys. The Minder Signal Blocker/Mini is a proven deterrent against Wireless Car Key Crime. We are delighted that the Secured by Design Accreditation endorses our product range”.

Nick added. “We have been a Secured by Design member since 2005 and our commitment to quality and innovation has been our main business focus. We will continue to promote SBD and our intention is to develop more products in the future with the Police Preferred specification in mind”.

Secured by Design Development Officer Hazel Goss said “JNE Security’s Minder Signal Blocker and Signal Blocker Mini are yet more fantastic product to add to their Secured by Design portfolio of accredited products.

“I’ve had the privilege of working with JNE Security for over 20 years, both as a Police Officer and now as a Development Officer for Secured by Design. These latest products will assist in reducing crime and therefore will reduce the likelihood of people becoming a victim of crime”.

Secured by Design: Secured by Design, the national police crime prevention initiative, aim to achieve sustainable reductions in crime through design and other approaches to enable people to live in a safer society.

We have more than 200 SBD trained police officers and staff in Police Forces around the UK. These Designing Out Crime Officers work with architects, developers and local authority planners to build in tried, tested and proven crime prevention techniques at the planning stage to reduce crime and keep communities safe.

SBD seeks to reduce crime by combining minimum standards of physical security like doors, windows and locks that achieve SBD’s Police Preferred Specification standard and proven design principles of the built environment such as natural surveillance and defensible space.

Whilst police are unable to recommend specific products, SBD can act as an effective gatekeeper and signposting service to our 650 member companies and their products, which meet our rigorous Police Preferred Specification standards.

Members’ products range from secure and robust doors, windows and locks through to cutting-edge IT products, CCTV components, and shutters and barriers. SBD is the only way for companies to obtain police accreditation for security products in the UK.
