MACO has renewed its membership with Secured by Design (SBD), the official police security initiative, continuing its long-standing commitment to delivering high quality hardware solutions that support secure windows and doors across the UK fenestration sector.
Part of the family-owned MACO Group, which was established in 1947, MACO’s UK operation has been serving the industry since 1986 from its base in Kent. Over the years, the company has built a strong reputation for customer service, technical expertise and the supply of high-performance hardware solutions for windows, doors and sliding door systems.
MACO offers a wide range of Secured by Design accredited products across the door hardware, locks and window hardware categories. Accredited products include a range of door solutions from the Protect range, alongside Tilt & Turn and Espagnolette window solutions, as well as complementary accessories.
The company’s hardware solutions are developed with a strong focus on performance, reliability and innovation, helping fabricators and installers meet the demands of modern security standards while maintaining functionality and ease of use. MACO also places significant emphasis on product testing, quality assurance and corrosion protection technologies to ensure long-term durability across its range.
Engineered in Austria, MACO combines large-scale production capabilities with a customer-focused approach, working closely with partners to develop practical, market-led solutions. Its manufacturing processes allow the company to maintain consistent quality standards while responding quickly to changing industry requirements.
Alongside its commitment to product innovation, MACO continues to invest in customer support, technical training and digital tools designed to help fabricators and installers specify and deliver secure, compliant solutions efficiently.
The renewal of MACO’s Secured by Design membership reflects the company’s continued dedication to supporting safer homes and buildings through the development and supply of security-focused hardware solutions.
Jemma Brookes, Head of Product Management at MACO, said: “At MACO, being part of Secured by Design is something we’re really proud of - it plays a huge role in shaping how we approach what we do. It helps us keep safety and security front and centre and gives us the framework to build products we know make a real difference. What makes it even more valuable is the relationship we’ve built with SBD. It’s incredibly supportive with genuine positivity. The collaborative partnership and ongoing connection helps us keep evolving, improving and contributing to a safer, more secure forward-thinking industry.”
Lyn Poole, Secured by Design, commented: “I am extremely pleased that MACO are renewing their SBD membership for another 3 years. They are a well-established hardware company and have been SBD members for over 20 years. It’s great to see that they enjoy the relationship with Secured by Design and the extra security recognition that it brings by having their products Police Preferred Specification accredited.“
