By combining a heritage of craftsmanship with continued investment in manufacturing and innovation, the company continues to support partners with premium sliding and bi-folding door systems designed to meet the needs of modern developments.
Lyn Poole, Secured by Design, commented: “It’s great to welcome UAB Panorama Nordic as SBD members. It’s good to see the company expanding its business within the UK and recognising the benefits of becoming an SBD member. The company has now achieved Police Preferred Specification for its SD66 Sliding Door, and we look forward to seeing it expand its range of Secured by Design accredited products.
“Whether it is a client’s wish or a planning condition, and the contractor, project manager or developer needs to achieve SBD accreditation for a development project, becoming an SBD member can make the process much easier and provides Police Preferred Specification for their products. Developers can check our website by searching for a member company to see whether they are a member and which products they have on their SBD product schedule.
“We have done the due diligence and ensured that the products have undergone independent third-party testing, so developers don’t have to.”

Secured by Design
Secured by Design (SBD) is the UK’s official police security initiative, working to help communities live more safely in well-designed, supportive environments.
As a self-funded, not-for-profit organisation established in 1989, SBD collaborates with the building industry to design out crime from early concept to completion, providing free, practical Design Guides and specialist advice via police Designing Out Crime Officers (DOCOs) to support development awards.
Through its public Advice Hub, SBD shares easy-to-follow crime prevention tools and connects people with over 7,000 certified, independently tested products carrying the trusted ‘Police Preferred Specification’ mark. This includes smart home tech and mobile apps accredited under SBD’s pioneering Secure Connected Device framework, developed with government partners to protect digital privacy and personal safety.
SBD also supports vulnerable individuals through initiatives like the SBD Sanctuary Scheme, which helps domestic abuse survivors stay safely in their own homes.
