Meesons achieve ‘world first’ for C190-S1 to S3 Security Portals that provide a robust barrier for prestigious buildings entrances and look good too

New SBD Member Company, Meesons, has achieved a ‘world-first’ for its C190-S1 to S3 Security Portals, which are designed to provide secure controlled access for prestigious building entrances.

Meesons is proud to announce that it is the first company to achieve Loss Prevention Standard (LPS) 1175: Issue 7 for their C190-S1 to S3 Security Portals (Security Ratings 1-3).

This is an important milestone for Meesons because it not only provides important independent test evidence and certification that their C-190-S1 to S3 Security Portals meet the highest security standards but also underpins their position as the UK’s trusted provider of innovative anti-tailgating entrance control solutions.

The C190-S1 to S3 Portals have been accredited by Secured by Design (SBD), the national police crime prevention initiative, for meeting the robust requirements of its Police Preferred Specification standard. This allows products to be marketed using the coveted SBD logo. SBD is the only way for companies to obtain police accreditation for security related products in the UK.

Meesons’ fully-glazed C190 Portal can operate as a high security interlocking door to prevent tailgating or as a prestigious entrance solution, allowing the transit of multiple people at the same time. The C190 Security Portal is configurable for different transit modes, day or night.

It has a spacious 1200mm wide cabin entrance, suitable for wheelchair access, making it a great alternative to revolving doors.

To meet the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) standards, involved thorough technical evaluation and rigorous quality audit processes, which are ongoing over time to ensure the Security Portals continue to achieve the required level of protection.

The LPS 1175 certificate was presented at IFSEC International at ExCel London in June by Richard Flint from BRE Global Limited (incorporating LPCB & BREEAM), an independent third-party certification authority.

Jeremy Terry, Managing Director, Meesons A.I. Ltd, said: “It means our C190-S1 to S3 Security Portals provide a robust physical barrier at entry points as well as having a high level of aesthetic appeal.”

Guy Ferguson, Chief Executive, Secured by Design, said: “It’s brilliant to have such a well-founded and long-established company continuing to come up with such innovative and ground-breaking solutions which take account of modern security needs in such a highly effective way. We are thrilled they have gained SBD accreditation.”

Founded in 1864, Meesons has over 30 years’ experience in entrance control solutions in the UK security industry. Customers include critical national infrastructure sites, such as airports, data centres and central government along with corporate clients and leisure.
