The Key Safe Company sets new industry benchmark

Secured by Design (SBD) member company The Key Safe Company has set a new industry benchmark with the release of its second-generation Supra C500 Keysafe™ and Supra P500 Keysafe™.

The second-generation Supra C500 Keysafe™ and Supra P500 Keysafe™, both of which have achieved Police Preferred Specification, have recently undergone a design enhancement attaining the impressive LPS1175 Issue 8 A5 certification - the first mechanical key safes in the UK to obtain this level.

This accreditation has secured the products' place as the most secure mechanical key safes on the UK market. The new standard means that the key safes can withstand a more extended 5-minute physical attack test. Issued by the Building Research Establishment (BRE), the new attack standard signifies that the second generation Supra C500 Keysafe™ and Supra P500 Keysafe™ have surpassed their previous LPS (Loss Prevention Standards) accreditations further to rigorous security and physical attack tests.

All the features that consumers expect from these reliable and trusted key safes remain, ensuring peace of mind that keys to consumers' properties are securely stored and accessible exclusively to trusted individuals or service providers at the point of need.

Managing Director of The Key Safe Company, David Ogden, stated: “We are incredibly proud of yet another 'industry-first' milestone, achieving the LPS1175 A5 accreditation for not just one, but for two of our best-selling products.

“We first introduced the concept of property access through a key holding device into Europe, working closely with the world's leading building science centres to help regulate the industry and to develop the Police Accredited Standard. The original Supra C500 and Supra P500 were the first two key safes to attain the LPCB LPS1175 and SBD accolades. They became the UK's most trusted property access solutions amongst local authorities and telecare service providers to deliver life-critical services.

“Driven by always providing the best product and service to our customers, innovation is within our DNA. The achievement of the latest LPS1175 Issue 8 A5 certification is testament to our commitment to continue to deliver the highest standards quality and reliability that our customers have come to expect of us.”

Stuart Ward at Police Scotland commented: “The Police Scotland Designing Out Crime Manager is pleased to note the enhanced attack test pass accreditation for the Secured by Design preferred products offered by The Key Safe Company. By meeting and passing this additional testing, this ensures an even greater resistance to attack, and enhanced confidence in their use.”

SBD Development Officer Ruari Robertson said: “I am thrilled that The Key Safe Company have achieved this enhanced accreditation to their second generation Supra 500 products and look forward to our continued work with them as valued members of Secured by Design.”

Since its conception in 1995, the privately held company has a passion for listening to its customers' needs.
