VIN CHIP™ is the UK marking scheme for touring caravans and motorhomes, using the asset VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) to assist the Police and other relevant law enforcement agencies to confirm registered keepers and help to identify stolen assets. VIN CHIP™ uses both covert and overt marking methods, and has been in place since 2016 supported by CRIS (Central Registration & Identification Scheme), the national database for touring caravans and motorhomes established in 1992, administered by CRIS on behalf of the NCC (National Caravan Council), providing 24/7 access to Police.
