Heald shortlisted for ‘Counter Terror’ and ‘Made in Yorkshire’ awards

Secured by Design member company, Heald Ltd, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Counter Terror Awards and the Made in Yorkshire Awards.

The company, based in Humberside, is a global manufacturer and installer of hostile vehicle mitigation systems and traffic control solutions.

The Counter Terror Awards take place on Tuesday, 6 March during UK Security Week at Olympia, London, and recognise the efforts of both public and private sector organisations, which have made significant contributions to counter terror strategy in the UK and overseas.

Heald has been shortlisted for the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Counter Terrorism’ and ‘Perimeter Protection Award’ categories.

The awards will be presented by former Defence Secretary, the Rt Hon Sir Michael Fallon. Other attendees include Julian King, European Commissioner, Security, and Mark Rowley, Assistant Commissioner for Specialist Operations, Met Police, and National Lead for Counter Terrorism Policing.

The Made in Yorkshire Awards are for companies based in Yorkshire and the Humber with sales in the UK and abroad.

Taking place on Thursday, 1 March, at the Royal Armouries Hall, Leeds, Heald has been shortlisted for ‘The Manufacturing Innovation Award’ and ‘Manufacturer of the Year (up to £25m)’ categories, with the winners progressing to the Made in the UK Awards in June.

Commenting on the award shortlists, Heald Managing Director, Debbie Heald, who was recently awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List for her services to Export and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), said: “It has been a wonderful start to 2018 and we are honoured to have been shortlisted in such prestigious award categories.
