The Secured by Design Police Hub offers access to learning and development resources, webinars, free online courses and a wealth of information and guidance about reducing crime for officers involved in designing out crime and crime prevention.
In October 2021, the National Police Chiefs’ Council unanimously designated the role of the Designing Out Crime Officer (DOCO) as a specialist police role. This was in direct recognition of their highly specialised skills and critical impact on reducing crime and victimisation. Police CPI’s Crime Prevention Academy is responsible for ensuring Police Officers and Staff undertaking these roles are suitably qualified and have the opportunity to engage in the NPCC Continuing Professional Development programme that relates to their role.
The document library within the Police Hub contains a wide range of publications, articles, papers, newsletters, circulars and other forms of informative reading material. Each is linked to designing out crime and crime prevention, providing a useful resource for continuing professional development, research and study.
Membership and product accreditation validate compliance with Secured by Design standards. They also allow for the use of the Secured by Design logo on packaging and products, building trust and confidence with customers and consumers.
